Vinted Users Voice Displeasure Regarding Size Updates

Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.

This online marketplace has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change.

Digital Channels Backlash

Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.

The company said the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.

They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.

Measurement Approach Updates

Earlier, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Member Experiences

A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she said.

Necessary Adjustments

Another shopper, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she stated.

Platform Context

The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.

It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
